PIMS | 1983 | ISBN: 0888440642 | 425 pages | PDF | 7,7 MB
Summary: Mathematics as it lives
Rating: 5
I will try to keep my admiration for this subject short. Euclid was the father of all modern Mathematics as the founder of the axiomatic system, and is still renowned for methods like the Euclidean Algorithm, ... the list goes on virtually forever.
His greatest achievement however was to write up "Everything" known to his world in mathematics, structure it and so pave the way for further discoveries, something, which today's time could also do with.
The book is incredibly scholarly ( although a knowledge of Latin is vital and Classical Greek very very helpful ), it is still mathematics in its finest form !
